Meet Michelle
As the President and Founder of Turning Point Search, an executive and professional boutique search firm based in Metro Detroit, Michelle has built a reputation for delivering high-impact hiring solutions in competitive markets and is one of the leading experts in the field. Working directly with client stakeholders, she leverages over 25 years of professional search and recruiting experience across multiple industries throughout the US. She is also an active leadership development coach for C-Suite, VP-Level Executives, Directors, and Managers.
Michelle began her career at Snelling Search, establishing a new client in the engineering, management, and technical services industry and placing her first executive hire in just 6 weeks. She quickly ascended in the industry, joining Syntel, Inc., an international IT Consulting Firm, followed by a leadership role at CIBER, a global IT Consulting Services company. There, she was the Technical Staffing Manager & Lead Recruiter, mentoring Detroit’s recruitment team and earning multiple President’s Club Awards (2000-2005). In 2004, she secured the CIBER Pinnacle Award as the firm’s top recruiter out of 72 recruiters nationwide, generating over $15.5 million in new hire revenue.
Recognizing the widening gap between experienced talent and open full-time positions, Michelle took the entrepreneurial leap in 2006 to launch Turning Point Search, Inc. Leading a team of seasoned senior recruiters, she consistently drives effective, tailored talent acquisition strategies to ensure successful placements for Turning Point Search's established and respected client companies. Michelle holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing and a Bachelor's Degree, with a Philosophy major and a Political Science minor, from Wright State University in Dayton, OH.
Beyond work, Michelle is deeply committed to family, personal growth, and community impact. She is an avid yogi, traveler, skier, and food and wine enthusiast, with a passion for philosophy, cultural exploration, and lifelong learning. Whether she’s engaged in thought-provoking discussions, exploring new destinations, or giving back through community initiatives, Michelle embodies a well-rounded and driven entrepreneurial spirit, both in business and in life.
Meet Renee
Renee and Michelle have been working together since 2000 when they first met at Ciber, an IT Consulting firm. In her role there, she supported Michelle and the recruiting team with sourcing, job postings, recruiter tools and metrics, prescreening, interview scheduling, research, offer coordination, and new employee orientation.
After 12 years of working in IT consulting, she took a few years off to focus on raising her boys. When she was ready to return to the professional world, she reunited with Michelle at Turning Point Search, Inc. Having worked alongside Michelle for nearly her entire career in the recruiting industry, Renee absolutely understands that career change for anyone can be exciting, rewarding, and beneficial, yet also sometimes uncertain. As such, she takes a personal approach to recruiting—doing her best to ensure the right candidate is matched with the right opportunity. Renee facilitates open, honest conversations between candidates and hiring companies, serving as a neutral unbiased liaison to support both sides.
Her priority is to provide candidates with transparent, timely, and honest communication. She advocates for job seekers and ensures they have the insights they need to make informed career decisions. Unlike automated or bulk recruiting methods, every initial reach-out message from Renee is customized to each carefully reviewed candidate.
In her personal life, her passions are traveling, crafting projects for her kids, playing the piano, cooking and eating healthy, working out, and spending time with family and friends.
